In 2015, three individuals, Dr. Diran Apelian, Dr. Yan Wang, and Eric Gratz, came together in Massachusetts to establish what has now become the foremost Lithium-Ion Battery Recycling company in North America. Their initiative stemmed from Dr. Yan Wang's pioneering work, which commenced in 2010 upon his arrival at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Inspired by their collective vision, they aimed to implement the then-patent-pending process titled "Method and apparatus for recycling lithium-ion batteries."

Since then, the company they established garnered numerous accolades and secured grants from entities like the United States Battery Consortium and the Department of Energy. Pioneering commercial-scale operations for Lithium-ion battery recycling in North America, they have become industry leaders in transforming recovered materials into engineered products.
